Description

Saffron for cooking

This 2 g pack of culinary saffron can be used in rice, couscous, broths and sauces. Incorporating it through the dish’s liquid helps distribute it throughout the food.

How to add saffron to a dish

For threads or cut threads

Steep a small pinch in a little warm stock or water. Add the saffron and the soaking liquid to the dish so that both are used.

For powder

Disperse a small amount in the cooking liquid and stir it through. Use the method matching the form in your pack.

A couscous example

For a vegetable couscous recipe using 170 g couscous, a large pinch of saffron threads goes into 260 ml hot stock used to hydrate the grains. Those quantities belong to that recipe; they are not a fixed amount for all rice, soup or couscous dishes.

Pack size

2 g.

Storage

Keep tightly closed in a dry place away from heat, light and steam. Use a clean, dry utensil.
